The International Foundation for the Physically Disabled is the
brainchild of Cobus Venter, a qualified Orthotist and Prosthetist.
Growing up in South Africa and spending time in various countries
(Tunisia, Senegal, Southern Africa, Europe, Canada and the USA),
he has seen the difficulty disabled people can face in getting the
medical devices they need in order to lead the lives they wish for, or
to provide for their families. Whether it is due to poverty, availability,
lack of insurance, war, or a variety of other factors, the outcome is
the same: physically disabled people all over the world with limited
financial means, need assistance.
Through the IFPD we hope to reach as many people possible and
provide them with necessary and appropriate prostheses, orthotics
and durable medical devices.
The concept of the IFPD is too big for just one person to put into
action. Thank you to everyone who has been involved in the process
up to this point - whether you contributed funds, information, or your
valuable time - your support is greatly appreciated.
Application for Assistance Applications for assistance will be evaluated based on criteria determined by our Board of Directors. All applications will be considered.
