Soon after incorporating the IFPD, we were contacted by Christina Cavener and Brittany Burrows
(
www.projectemmanuel.org). They shared with us the story of Emmanuel....

Emmanuel lives at the Jamaa Letu orphanage in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo. He
was born without legs (below the knee). He was brought to the orphanage after living on the
streets for years without a family.

He is intelligent,
friendly, and joyful.
He is active and loves
soccer - playing with his
friends by putting shoes on
his hands to "kick" the ball.
He really is a special kid.

The IFPD wants to raise
awareness about Brittany
& Christina's Project
Emmanuel and assist
them in raising funds for
Emmanuel's prostheses.

Just put EMMANUEL in the
dedication of your online
donation...

SEPTEMBER 2009 - UPDATE
We have been in contact with Emmanuel's doctor in DRC and he believes Emmanuel will be ready for his prostheses
in October 2009!

PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING A DONATION TO CHANGE THIS BOY'S LIFE!
Emmanuel is adoptable

(Under the Jamaa Letu Boys when
you click on the "Children" page)
APRIL 2009 - UPDATE
Emmanuel underwent surgery (revisions) in March 2009, and is currently recovering. Funds for the surgery was generously provided by Christina
Cavener and Brittany Burrows  (
www.projectemmanuel.org). He will be fitted with prostheses later this year.
Please consider helping Emmanuel...
NEW UPDATE!
Thanks to the great work of Brittany &
Christina (
www.projectemmanuel.org)
Emmanuel has received his first prostheses!

Look at his beaming face....

As a growing young boy, this is not the end of
the road for Emmanuel and these will not be
his last prostheses. The  process remains
challenging in DRC, as in many places in
Africa.

Therefore we ask for your continued
consideration in donating to Emmanuel's
cause.
JANUARY 2010 - UPDATE
A lack of communication and infrastructure has made it very difficult for us to find out exactly how Emmanuel is doing,
and how to get him fitted with prostheses. This weighs very heavily on the minds all of us who have become involved
with Emmanuel's story. We stay hopeful that we will find a way to help this young boy.
